FIRE-RATED DOOR APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SETUP
1. Clean the door area with a non-abrasive cleaner and let it dry fully.
2. Remove the backing from the vinyl layer.
SIDE 1
3. Center the handle/Knob in the DoorEdge Defender's cutout hole while aligning the top & bottom cutout V’s with the door edge - lightly pressing while aligning.
*NOTE: If applying w/deadbolt option, also center deadbolt in it's dedicated cutout holes.
4. Starting near the handle, press outward firmly to smooth wrinkles and bubbles.

5.Wrap the DoorEdge Defender around the door's 90-degree edge while pinching to work securely into the small channels between the fire-rated metal exterior plates and the door's edge.
*NOTE: The use of a hairdryer, on "WARM" heat, for a few seconds, makes the vinyl more pliable and glue more adhesive for wrapping around the 90-degree corners.
SIDE 2
6.Adhere the top and the bottom sections of side 2 with these two steps:
a. Pull the top of side 2 tightly around the back and firmly smooth outward to remove any wrinkles and bubbles.
b. Repeat the process 6a for the bottom of side 2.
FOLLOW UP
Over the next 24 hours, pinch the corners and firmly press outward from the center to the edges to remove any bubbles and ensure the DoorEdge Defender is adhered well.
